A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THIS SINGLE:

Tim Ellis and I played live acoustic music together for well over twenty years under the name Tim & Jim.

We also made a bunch of albums together.

Sadly Tim passed in 2016.

​

But I had an idea awhile back; to take one of the album tracks that Tim had played on back in the day (which were recorded along with a full band; drums bass, keys, etc), then isolate Tim's original acoustic guitar parts, and then I'd play along live to them.

​

In other words, what I was trying to do was recreate our acoustic duo from a hybrid of Tim's existing recorded parts from many years ago, and me playing live to those parts now.

​

So a few weeks ago I tried this experiment;

Me in headphones in the studio, playing and singing live along with Tim's tracks. Felt pretty natural actually.

I also mixed the finished product so that you'd hear Tim's parts more on the left side of the speakers, and mine more to the right, just like how it was when we played live on stage.
All that make sense?
I hope so because here it is; The first new live track from Tim & Jim in nearly a decade; POOR BABY.
